Iced In

This is bordering on ridiculous.

Here's the view from inside.

Click here to see what this room looked like back in the summer and less than one month ago.

It's only anecdotal, I know. But my personal experience leads me to think that the Chicken Littles starting to scream global cooling might actually have something.

WOW! You should take a big hammer and crack all that ice.

I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but there are two layers of ice there, one that's pretty much attached to the glass and another that's a few inches beyond, sort of suspended from all the frozen snow higher up.

My 5yo loves to go out and do exactly what you describe. But I don't think I'll let him have a hammer. And I don't think he'll be going out today, since our high is only supposed to be 6 below!

We have some major icicles on our home also. The first addition on our home was not well insulated. We have added roof insulation, but still get a ton of icicles. Then when they melt, the water occasionally leaks into my dining room and one bedroom.

I know you've had problems with leaking in this room previously. Hopefully, you won't this time.
