But maybe it's worth it. I think they may take off a few years. What do you think? Here are a few birthday pictures (taken by my daughter) for your consideration.

Thanks for being my official photographer, Caitlin!
I know, this post is an exercise in total vanity. But I'm entitled, right? I'm now closer to 50 than 40. The wrinkles are multiplying, the hair is graying, the eyes and mind are failing, and the body is going. Gotta take what I can get.
Happy birthday to me!

You could pull off the Sarah Palin-schoolmarm gig. :)
Congratulations, and Happy Birthday.
Happy birthday, Cheryl! You're a kid yet - trust me on this... :)
Hope it's a great one - and keep up the blogging!
Happy birthday! I think you look great and I'm totally jealous of your hair. :) I vote for glasses, but I'm a glasses girl myself so I'm biased.
Happy birthday!
I think you have nothing to worry about. The best years of my life have been between 40, and there still going on. Your body fails a little, but I think the mind gets sharper, or maybe just clearer.
Cheryl - I've loved following your blog and even meeting you in person. You look so much younger than your actual age!
Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, dear friend!
I think you look great! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday... hey 40's a good club, I moved to the 50 clube last year.
It's been ok....
Bangs / no bangs.... it's how you feel on the inside that matters most.
Peace..
Dave
Happy Birthday! Celebrate! Eat Cake!!!
Hey, Happy Birthday plus 1 !
I vote glasses, since I've always secretly wanted some, so as to look more intelligent myself :) And I'll trade hair anytime too.
Happy Birthday! I was glad to give you your birthday hug in person.
Many happy returns of the day!
Thank you, everyone! What lovely bloggy friends you are. Working Man, I don't know about the sharper mind . . . my personal experience so far seems to suggest otherwise . . . but maybe if I can survive the forties the fifties will be better, at least on the mental front!
