The Brothers of John the Steadfast have created an online reading group for the Book of Concord. Find out more here and consider joining in. I have decided to do so, which is somewhat ironic since the driving force behind the Brothers is my very own pastor, who leads a Confessions reading group at our church every Tuesday night. Although I have long wanted to attend, my schedule has not been conducive to doing so. But now I have no excuse! And neither do you. :-) If you, like me, sometimes need an extrinsic motivator to make good things happen, you now have it. So go find your Book of Concord and get busy!

I started with good intentions about this time last year. Got hung up big time in the long, long, long (will dear Philip EVER shut up?) article on justification in the Apology... finally got past that, but I'm still in the Apology! It's kind of funny, because Melancthon keeps saying, "What need have we of more arguments?" and then he goes on for 12 more pages.
(Don't get me wrong, it's good stuff!)
The assignment for this week is the Solid Declaration, Article VIII (the Person of Christ--what a great section for Advent!) I was surprised this morning when I suddenly realized that I had read about 5 paragraphs beyond where I needed to be! Godd stuff, indeed!
