Speaking of Phil . . .

Yesterday he was contacted by Northwestern Publishing House seeking permission to include "If Christ Had Not Been Raised from Death" (LSB 486) in the supplement to Christian Worship (hymnal of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod). The words of the hymn were written by Christopher Idle; Phil set those words to music. It is a glorious wedding of text and tune, and I am not surprised that others have taken notice. If you haven't discovered it yet, I encourage you to do so!

Another opportunity for God to use Phil in his vocation and quite the honor and acknowlegment of his talent. At Christ Lutheran Church we have used The Pascal Lamb with the flute solo -- that was Phil's right?

Yes indeed--that was Phil's. Actually it was his first composition to be published. Because of that and because CPH provided it with particularly lovely cover art, we decided to frame it and hang it in our living room. I'm so glad to hear you have used it at Christ!
