I know. It's the pits. BUT WE MUST NOT GIVE UP! WE MUST NOT STICK OUR HEADS IN THE SAND! WE MUST NOT LET THEM WIN!
Sorry. Just wanted to make sure you were paying attention.
If you read nothing else today, read this from Bill Whittle of Pajamas Media. Please.

Just because I've got my head in the sand doesn't mean I don't care.
I care deeply.
I don't need a call to action.
I need a nap. I'm tired.
EC, I know you care. I didn't suggest that sticking one'e head in the sand meant otherwise. I think we all do it to some extent and the fact that we do is actually indicative of how much we care. We can't bear to watch what is happening and have to turn away.
I understand how you feel. I'm tired, too. My post was not intended to be critical of anyone who is currently sticking his head in the sand but to offer hope and encouragement to the demoralized (of which I am one). For me it is helpful to see and hear from others who are not giving up, who think that there are things that can be done to change the current trajectory. That's what this article did for me, so I wanted to share it. I didn't mean to imply that someone who is handling this differently doesn't care. I'm sorry if that was how it came across.
Nah, you're fine. I'm just crabby.
I would add that I do hope that to the extent we are able we all continue to follow and stay as informed as we can. Again, to the extent we are able. That is different for everyone. But the only hope this country has is for those who care to invest themselves, however they can, in trying to save it.
I am, in typical Rock-Snake fashion, torn between the desire and the hope that we can Do Something, and a rather more pessimistic view that, even on the off chance this particular bill gets repealed, you cannot long fight the groundswell of historical-scale societal change, and we will see national health care on these shores either this decade or the next. Intellectually I lean toward the latter, but I can't bring myself to embrace it. So, come November, I'll be splitting the difference, fighting the good fight, but glumly and against my better judgment. In the meantime, while the courts are busy, I'm just tired and ready to think about pleasanter things for a while.
What he said, pretty much exactly.
