He is playing the orch...Glenda, that's Phillip. He is playing the orchestra part (arranged for piano) to accompany the solo piano part. This performance was for a concerto competition, so only concertos were allowed. The competitors were not just pianists but string, woodwind, and brass players as well. Each of them was accompanied by a pianist playing the orchestral reduction.
